10TH ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC
Dear Combat Injured Service Member of our Armed Forces,
As a combat injured service member, whether currently on active duty, medically retired or a veteran of our country’s recent battles, this is a personal invitation for you to enjoy a day of R&R, golf, food and beverages at no cost and full complements of the Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes, (LFWMH).
The LFWMH will hold its 10th annual Golf Classic at the Hampton Hall and Belfair Golf Clubs in Bluffton S.C., Monday, May 18, 2020. The Foundation’s mission for the Golf Classic is to remember, honor and host combat injured service men and women who served in the Iraq, Afghanistan and post 9-11 combat theaters. Our Golf Classics held the last 9 years have been a terrific success, thus allowing the LFWMH to donate over $1,235,000.00 to organizations and charities that directly support wounded Heroes living in the “Low Country”. We are planning our tenth annual Golf Classic and wanted to get this invitation to you now. We promise to provide you with a fun and patriotic day of golf, refreshments and R&R, culminating with dinner and notable military guest speakers. The LFWMH Foundation is 100% staffed by volunteers, all dedicated and working to ensure Wounded Heroes like you are never forgotten, and to raise funds in support of those in need. Please note 100% percent of the net funds received from our activities go directly to the organizations supporting our severely wounded service members living in the “Low Country”. Our Foundation is supported by the PGA Tour’s “Birdies for the Brave” military outreach program. Please see the attachments that provide information on LFWMH and the Golf Classic.
We extend this personal invitation to all combat wounded service members injured in our country’s recent wars to join us for the day which includes professional golf instruction, golf if you desire along with a 4-some, and/or just relax and use the amenities (work out, swim, etc.) at the two Golf Clubs. The use of golf equipment, lessons, golf, breakfast, lunch, dinner, gifts and beverages are provided as a token of our appreciation and to honor you for your service and sacrifice. A personal escort with golf cart will greet you and insure you have a fun day.
We would be honored to have those who have suffered combat injuries in Iraq, Afghanistan and the post 9-11 theaters of war take part in our event. (It is not necessary to have been awarded the Purple Heart as we understand the hidden wounds of PTSD and TBI). Please join us, and also help us in identifying additional service members who may have suffered combat injuries so we can invite them to be our guests for the day as well. This is a fun and very patriotic day and no one will be put on the spot or showcased in any way what-so-ever! You are not asked to participate in any fund-raising activities! Even if you have joined us for a previous Golf Classic, we would be so honored if you would please join us again!
If you have an interest in attending or have any questions, please contact me directly. Please see the attached brochure and fact sheet, or visit our website www.woundedmilitaryheroes.org for additional information about our efforts. We look forward to hearing from you, answering any questions and would be honored to host you on 18 May 2020.
Sincerely, Sal Salvatore L. Zingales, Major USA (Ret.) Chairman, Military Liaison Committee Cell: 440 725 3996, Salz@hargray.com
