VETERANS
Choosing when to leave the service – or having that decision put before you unexpectedly – is not easy. The concerns over where to live, new job and salary, and will that job fit your needs can be overwhelming. Palmetto Warrior Connection can help. We have Veteran Advocates and Career Navigators who can guide you through the civilian employment process: Prep for the job search, fill in skills gaps, draft or revise your resume, and interview well. Most of our staff are vets or military spouses themselves so they understand what you’re going through.
MILITARY SPOUSES
The resources available to active duty service members transitioning to civilian life seem endless and spouses can sometimes feel left out. Palmetto Warrior Connection has Career Navigators and Veteran Advocates who understand a Military Spouse’s employment needs. If your work history has part-time jobs, volunteering, job gaps, or underemployment; we can strategize with you so hiring managers understand. Or maybe now is the time to consider a professional certification? We can help with that too.
EMPLOYERS
Supporting South Carolina’s military community is easier than you think: Hire Veterans or Military Spouses, get your employees to volunteer, host a resume review workshop, create an employee challenge that donates items in need by homeless shelters, attend nights hosted by PWC. We can customize an enetworkingvent or program to fit your level of participation.
PARTNERS
Palmetto Warrior Connection works closely with other agencies, organizations, nonprofits, and government offices to support the South Carolina veteran community. No single group can be all things to all Veterans and we welcome the opportunity to co-host events, cross-promote to audiences, or braid funding for a new program. Interested in becoming a PWC Partner?
Palmetto Warrior Connection is committed to the health and safety of our veterans, military spouses and their families as well as our fellow Palmetto Goodwill teammates. Out of an abundance of caution and keeping in mind Goodwill’s and PWC’s unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of our community, we are temporarily closing our offices, retail stores, donation centers, and training facilities from March 25 to April 13. If COVID-19 conditions improve before then, we will open sooner.
In the meantime, we’ve assembled a list of resources from several partner agencies that link you to various types of assistance during this remote period – financial assistance, employment links, health resources, and federal information. If you have any questions or issues, our staff is working behind the scenes from home offices to answer calls and emails. Please contact us at 843-414-9736 or 843-566-0072 and leave a detailed message, or you can email us at info@palmettowarriorconnection.org. One of our team will contact you within 48 hours.
Thank you and stay safe!
